IndigiSEC is an Indigenous-led, independent defence and security conference designed to create trusted ground for Indigenous Nations, industry, government and strategic partners to engage around Canada's defence and security future.
As Canada's security requirements evolve, there is a growing intersection between national capability, defence industrial participation, sovereignty, and Indigenous economic leadership.
IndigiSEC exists to help these conversations happen deliberately and constructively. The platform focuses on practical execution: Indigenous business participation in defence procurement, long-term industry relationships, national capability, and Indigenous economic leadership.
Indigenous Nations, industry and government do not need identical priorities in order to work together.
Each participant brings distinct authority, responsibilities, interests and commercial realities. IndigiSEC provides an independent environment where those perspectives can meet honestly and productively.
Canada's capability, infrastructure, workforce, technology and resilience. A secure nation requires a robust industrial base and thriving regional economies.
Canada's ability to develop, sustain and protect strategic capability and interests, deeply interconnected with the presence and prosperity of Indigenous Nations across the country.
Long-term relationships built around mutual value rather than transactional engagement. This is the foundation of sustainable procurement and capability development.
The visual language of the IndigiSEC crest acknowledges Indigenous participation within Canada's defence community and recognizes the Black Bear, Bold Eagle and Raven Canadian Armed Forces Indigenous summer training programs.
These programs combine military training with Indigenous cultural teachings, providing participants with opportunities to develop skills in leadership, teamwork, discipline, confidence and service.
